You have to choose a device for deployment manually during running or debugging when no target device is specified in the current run/debug configuration. This is done in the Choose Device dialog box that opens upon the run/debug session start-up and displays all the currently running devices, both actual and virtual.

To appoint the target device for deployment

Do one of the following:

To choose an actual device
  1. Plug-in the desired Android mobile phone.
  2. Start the run/debug session.
  3. In the Choose Device dialog box that opens select the desired actual device and click OK.
To choose a running virtual device
  • In the Choose Device dialog box that opens upon the run/debug session start-up, select the desired virtual device and click OK.
To launch an existing virtual device
  1. In the Choose Device dialog box that opens upon the run/debug session start-up, click the Launch Emulator button.
  2. In the Select Android Virtual Device dialog box that opens select the desired device and click OK. The system returns to the Choose Device dialog box, where the chosen device is added to the list. Select the device and click OK.
