The Filter element defines the name of the filter and specifies the compiled class that implements it.

IntelliJ IDEA provides the facilities to configure, edit, and remove Filter elements using the Web Module Editor window, General tab. The tab is synchronized with the Text tab where the code is generated based on the settings you specify.

To define a filter
  1. Configure a new filter.
  2. Click OK in the New Filter dialog box. The new filter is added to the list in the Filters Configured pane.
To edit a filter
  1. Select the required filter from the list in the Filters Configured pane and click icon_openLocalVersion. The Edit Filter dialog box opens.
  2. Proceed as during the filter configuration.
