- Open the desired project in IntelliJ IDEA.
- On the main menu, choose .
- In the dialog box that opens, specify the following:
- Entire project or a module to be used as the basis for the new project template.
- Name of the template.
- Optional description.
IntelliJ IDEA saves the template, and makes this template available under the User-defined node of the New Project wizard.

- On the main menu, choose . The dialog box displays the list of all available project templates.
- Select the template you want to delete, and click
, or press Alt+DeleteCommand Delete.
The template is deleted, and no longer available in the New Project wizard.
