By default, the Android Asset Packaging Tool (aapt) compresses resources during packaging. However you can have resources of a certain type included in the .apk file uncompressed by changing the settings of the Android facet.
- Open the Project Structure dialog box by choosing . See Accessing Project Structure and Accessing Module Settings for more information.
- In the left-hand pane, choose Modules, then in the central pane click the Android facet under the module with the resources to be packaged uncompressed.
- In the right-hand pane, switch to the Compiler tab.
In the Additional command line parameters text box, type -0 <file extension for this type of resources>.
As a result, all the files with the specified extension will be excluded from compression.
You can specify as many extensions as necessary using commas as separators to suppress compressing numerous resource types.
If the set of parameters does not fit the text box, click and type the parameters in the dialog box that opens.
