This section describes how to toggle, view and organize bookmarks. PyCharm suggests Bookmarks dialog as a tool for managing bookmarks project-wide.

This section describes how to:

To create a bookmark with mnemonics
  1. Place the caret at the desired line of code in the editor.
  2. Press Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11 (alternatively, choose Navigate | Bookmarks | Toggle Bookmark With Mnemonic on the main menu), then press one of the keys among 0-9 or A-Z.

    Tip

    Pressing Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11 at the line where a bookmark already exists toggles this bookmark.

To toggle an anonymous bookmark on the current line, do one of the following
  • On the main menu, choose Navigate | Bookmarks | Toggle Bookmark.
  • Press F11F11.
To view all bookmarks in a project, do one of the following
  • On the main menu, choose Navigate | Bookmarks | Show Bookmarks.
  • Press Shift+F11Shift+F11.
To delete bookmarks in a project
  1. Open the Bookmarks dialog (Navigate | Bookmarks | Show Bookmarks, or Shift+F11Shift+F11).
  2. Select bookmarks and press EditorDeleteEditorDelete.
To change the order of bookmarks
  1. Open the Bookmarks dialog (Navigate | Bookmarks | Show Bookmarks, or Shift+F11Shift+F11).
  2. Select the desired bookmark.
  3. Use Move Up (arrowUp, Ctrl+UpCtrl+Up) and Move Down (arrowDown, Ctrl+DownCtrl+Down) buttons to shift the bookmark in the desired direction.
