Who qualifies
Commercial Licenses aare available to legal entities, including companies and organizations (both for-profit and non-profit), requiring the software for general commercial use. Commercial Licenses that are registered in a legal entity name allow for use of the software on any computer, operating system, and by any developer within a legal entity, provided that the total number of concurrent users never exceeds the number of purchased licenses.

License Terms
Per concurrent user model
A number of purchased licenses enables a legal entity to use the software by the corresponding number of developers at a time.
Cross-platform compatibility
A single license allows for use of the software on different operating systems, provided that it's not concurrent use.
Perpetual ownership
A license is perpetual to the purchased version of the software. Upgrades are optional and provided pursuant to the ReSharper maintenance terms. Each subsequent upgrade automatically terminates rights for use of the previous versions.
Non-transferable restriction
Use of the software is restricted to a licensed legal entity with no right to transfer the software to third parties.

Discounts
Volume discounts
Bulk purchases for 5 or more licenses qualify for volume discounts. Our volume discounts are based per-transaction and do not grow based on previous purchases. To obtain a volume discount, please contact us for a price quotation. Customers who purchase (or already own) over 20 user licenses of ReSharper can also benefit from our license server, which easily enables license administration across a single network.
Competitive discounts
Owners of other commercial tools competitive to ReSharper can receive a 25% discount off the standard ReSharper price. Please contact us to check availability of the competitive discount for your tool.
License Server
The JetBrains License Server is designed to support a floating license model and to help corporate users perform license administration across a single network.
Major Features and Benefits:
- Stores multiple license keys on a single (server) machine.
- Provides clients with access to the software on an "as needed" basis. Access to a specific product is restricted to the number of product license keys stored by the license server
- Enables monitoring of the software usage by providing user info, product info and usage time via log files
- Eliminates license administration issues such as identifying license location, distributing licenses between multiple machines, and transferring licenses between users
- Cross-platform compatible
- Easy to set up and use
System Requirements:
- Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE)/Java SE Development Kit (JDK) v.5 or later, and one of the following
operating systems:
- Windows® (2000, NT 4.0 or higher, XP), or

- Apache Tomcat 6.0
- Internet Explorer 7.0 or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 for accessing the License Server control panel
Supported Products:
- IntelliJ IDEA v. 7.0 or higher (Commercial Licenses).
- ReSharper v. 3.1 or higher (Commercial Licenses for all editions)
- dotTrace v. 3.1 or higher (Floating Licenses only)
- RubyMine v. 1.0 or higher (Commercial Licenses only)
You can have earlier versions of the above products or use other license types on your network, but you cannot manage them using License Server
The License Server is available to customers of IntelliJ IDEA and/or ReSharper who own or purchase 20+ Commercial Licenses. Also, the License Server is provided as part of dotTrace Floating License purchases.

Who qualifies
If you plan to purchase yourself a license, and you are the only person planning to use that license, then the Personal License is for you. You can purchase no more than one Personal license, which will be non-transferable.

A Personal License is a named-user license which restricts the use of the software to the person who purchased that license. The license allows for installation of the software on different computers (at work and/or at home), provided that multiple instances of the software will not be used at the same time.

A Personal License allows for use of the software on different operating systems, provided that they are not used at the same time.

A Personal License can be used indefinitely, for the purchased version of the software. Upgrades are optional and provided pursuant to the ReSharper maintenance terms. Each subsequent upgrade automatically terminates the rights for use of the previous versions.

Use of the software is restricted to a licensed individual with no right to transfer the software to a company or other individuals.

Apache developers: Since ASF developers are often involved in several projects concurrently, JetBrains will provide them with personal licenses for individual developers, rather than on a per-project basis as we normally do for other Open Source projects.

If you provide paid services for your open source software or distribute paid versions of your open source software, you do not qualify for a free license, but we would still love to support your open source project — please contact us to check the available options.

How to apply
To apply for this free license:
- Please make sure that you meet the following criteria:
- You are the project lead or a committer
- You have been working on your open source project for a minimum of 3 months
- Your community is active. This means that you have recent activity in your newsgroups or forums
- You have an updated News section on your site
- You release updated builds on a regular basis
