ReSharper may use your network connection for several purposes.
|Purpose||Description and Configuration|
|Looking for updates||
ReSharper can detect and download new versions.
To disable this option, clear the Download the list of available updates check-box on the Updates page of the Options dialog box. For more information, see Updates.
|Sending out feedback||
ReSharper can collect and send out some information that
helps us find bottlenecks and improve the quality of the product.
All information is sent anonymously.
To enable this activity, select the Participate anonymously in the ReSharper Feedback program check-box on the ReSharper Feedback page of the Options dialog box. For more information, see ReSharper Feedback.
|Downloading PDB files||
In order to navigate to source code that is located on a symbol server,
ReSharper may need to download PDB files first.
To enable this option, select the Allow downloading from remote locations check-box on the External Source page of the Options dialog box. For more information, see External Sources.
|Verifying license information||ReSharper may use your network to check for duplicate licenses or to obtain a license from the license server. For more information, see Specifying License Information.|
Normally, no additional modifications in the firewall configuration are needed. In case of any difficulties, adjust firewall settings so that devenv.exe can access the network.
