Default Visual Studio navigation

Click this radio button to use Visual Studio navigation. ReSharper navigation to external sources is disabled.

Navigation to Object Browser

Click this radio button to navigate to Object Browser by default. Nevertheless, navigation to Metadata View, decompiled code or sources from symbol files is available, but you should specify the navigation destination explicitly.

Navigation to Sources

Click this radio button to enable navigation to external sources by default. ReSharper navigates to Metadata View or decompiled code, or sources from symbol files depending on the settings defined below. Regardless of the chosen settings, ReSharper can navigate to any of those destinations, when you specify the navigation destination explicitly.

Language for Metadata View (C# or Visual Basic) is defined automatically according to the navigation location (or file and project).

 Note

Available in ReSharper 5 Full Edition or higher.

Use debug information for navigation

Select this check box to use debug information (PDB files) in oder to define and find appropriate source files.

Allow downloading from remote locations

Select this check box to enable downloading sources from Symbol Server or other remote locations.

Decompile methods

Select this check box to decompile assemblies into C# or Visual Basic code depending on ???.

Show XML documentation comments

Select this check box to include XML comments.

Reorder members as specified in code style settings

Select this check box to apply member reordering according to formatting settings and member layout.

Advanced

If symbol or source files are located remotely, for a example, on your corporate server, click this button to open the ReSharper - Advanced symbols options dialog box and create a new folder substitution.

  • Add - click this button to create a new pair of folders.
  • Edit - click this button to edit the selected pair of folders.
  • Remove - click this button to remove the selected pair of folders.
