You can export a template to a separate file to distribute or share with other developers.

You can also import templates. To be imported correctly, a template file must have been created with ReSharper.

To export templates
  1. On the main menu, choose ReSharper | Templates Explorer.
  2. Click one of three tabs depending on what template you want to modify.
  3. Optionally, choose a layer by clicking its name in the Layer drop-down list.
  4. Click the appropriate scope and templates to be exported.
  5. Click Export on the toolbar. The Save As dialog opens.
  6. Type a file name in the File name box.
  7. Optionally, change the type using the Save as type list.
  8. Click Save to complete the export process.
To import templates
  1. On the main menu, choose ReSharper | Templates Explorer.
  2. Click one of three tabs depending on what template you want to modify.
  3. Optionally, choose a layer by clicking its name in the Layer drop-down list.
  4. Click Import on the toolbar. The Open Templates File dialog opens.
  5. Specify a file that ReSharper should use to import templates.
  6. Click Open.
