Applicability and Storage of Templates

Since ReSharper 6.1 templates, as well as other settings, are stored in layers. For more information about layers and their managing, see Managing and Sharing Options. Taking into account layers, four groups of templates exist:

• Predefined templates are delivered with ReSharper and cannot be deleted.
• Solution personal templates are defined for a particular solution only and usually not shared with anyone else.
• Solution team-shared templates are defined for a particular solution only. They are usually shared among team members and put under version control with other shared settings.
• Custom templates are defined and available in all solutions on the local machine.
