This section describes how to toggle, view and organize bookmarks. RubyMine suggests Bookmarks dialog as a tool for managing bookmarks project-wide.

To create a bookmark with mnemonics
  1. Place the caret at the desired line of code in the editor.
  2. Press Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Alt+Meta+F6Alt F3Command F11Alt F3Shift Alt F6 (alternatively, choose Navigate | Bookmarks | Toggle Bookmark With Mnemonic on the main menu), then press one of the keys among 0-9 or A-Z.

    Tip

    Pressing Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Ctrl+F11Alt+Meta+F6Alt F3Command F11Alt F3Shift Alt F6 at the line where a bookmark already exists toggles this bookmark.

To toggle an anonymous bookmark on the current line, do one of the following
  • On the main menu, choose Navigate | Bookmarks | Toggle Bookmark.
  • Press F11F11F11F11F11Ctrl+F2F11Ctrl+Shift+F11Meta+F2F3F11F3Shift F6.
To view all bookmarks in a project, do one of the following
  • On the main menu, choose Navigate | Bookmarks | Show Bookmarks.
  • Press Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Alt+F2Ctrl+Shift+MShift+F11Alt+Meta+BCommand F3Shift F11Command F3Shift Command F6.
To delete bookmarks in a project
  1. Open the Bookmarks dialog (Navigate | Bookmarks | Show Bookmarks, or Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Alt+F2Ctrl+Shift+MShift+F11Alt+Meta+BCommand F3Shift F11Command F3Shift Command F6).
  2. Select bookmarks and press EditorDeleteEditorDeleteEditorDeleteEditorDeleteEditorDeleteEditorDeleteEditorDeleteEditorDeleteDelete or Meta+BackspaceDeleteDeleteDeleteDelete or Control D.
To change the order of bookmarks
  1. Open the Bookmarks dialog (Navigate | Bookmarks | Show Bookmarks, or Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Shift+F11Alt+F2Ctrl+Shift+MShift+F11Alt+Meta+BCommand F3Shift F11Command F3Shift Command F6).
  2. Select the desired bookmark.
  3. Use Move Up (arrowUp, Ctrl+UpCtrl+UpCtrl+UpCtrl+UpCtrl+UpCtrl+UpCtrl+UpCtrl+UpMeta+UpEditorScrollUpCommand UpEditorScrollUpCommand Up) and Move Down (arrowDown, Ctrl+DownCtrl+DownCtrl+DownCtrl+DownCtrl+DownCtrl+DownCtrl+DownCtrl+DownMeta+DownEditorScrollDownCommand DownEditorScrollDownCommand Down) buttons to shift the bookmark in the desired direction.
