We are pleased to inform you that starting with the TeamCity 3.1 release our licensing policy has been changed to better meet your needs.

TeamCity 3.1 comes in two editions:

• Professional Edition provides limited functionality
  and is available for free download
• Enterprise Edition is a fully-functional edition that is priced at $1999 per Enterprise Server License.

If you own Prior TeamCity licenses, you qualify for a free upgrade to the Enterprise Edition of TeamCity.

Any per-user account licenses purchased before the TeamCity 3.0 release (hereunder "Prior TeamCity licenses") automatically convert to Agent Licenses, including:

• TeamCity 1.x-2.x licenses
• IntelliJ IDEA 6.0 licenses purchased between July, 12th, 2006 and January 15, 2007 and qualifying for use of TeamCity 1.x-2.x

Upgrading to the Professional Edition

Upgrading to the Professional Edition does not require obtaining a server license. You can download and run as many instances of the Professional Server as needed. For more details, please check the Professional edition licensing policy and the general TeamCity License Agreement.

Your Prior TeamCity licenses will serve as Agent Licenses. Each Professional Server instance will automatically grant you use of three bundled Build Agents. The total number of Build Agents that you are entitled to use on all of your Professional Server instances combined calculates as follows:

The number of your prior TeamCity licenses + three bundled Build Agents for all of your Professional Server instances combined.

If you require more Build Agents, you can purchase additional Build Agents for $299 per agent.

Upgrading to the Enterprise Edition

Upgrading to the Enterprise Edition requires obtaining an Enterprise Server License. All existing TeamCity customers qualify for one Enterprise Server License free of charge regardless of the number of Prior TeamCity licenses owned. To request your Enterprise Server License, please contact sales with your customer ID or with one of your Prior TeamCity licenses.

A single Prior TeamCity license entitles you to run a single instance of the TeamCity Enterprise Edition Server. For more details, please see the Enterprise edition licensing policy and the general TeamCity License Agreement.
