JetBrains Debuts New IntelliJ IDEA at JavaOne

Award-winning Java IDE Again Raises Standard for Fast, Error-free Development

San Mateo, California, June 03, 2003 – JetBrains, creator of intelligent application development tools for the Java platform, announced today that attendees at this year’s JavaOne show in San Francisco will see the newest version of its award-winning IntelliJ IDEA, the most highly and consistently praised Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Java.
Visitors to the JetBrains Booth #1623 will receive fully functional evaluation copies of IntelliJ IDEA, along with hands-on demonstrations of the IDE’s newest innovations. The evaluation kit will also include a detailed 16-page booklet on how developers can benefit from IntelliJ IDEA 3.0 in a variety of environments including Windows, Linux, UNIX and Mac OS X.

At JavaOne, the benchmark trade show for businesses and developers active in the Java world, visitors also will be able to meet the three JetBrains co-founders, who are World-class Java developers in their own right:

  • Eugene Belyaev, President and Chief Technology Officer
    With a PhD in Economics and an MS in Computer Science, Eugene Belyaev has focused on creating and perfecting complex tools for developers in the real world. Prior to JetBrains, he was senior developer and project manager for Together Control Center at TogetherSoft.
  • Sergey Dmitriev, Chief Executive Officer
    Sergey Dmitriev comes to JetBrains from TogetherSoft, where he served as project manager and core developer for key projects. In 1993 he co-founded GIS software company Horis Ltd., where he served as CTO and project leader. Other experience includes extensive research and development of image recognition algorithms for CAD systems.
  • Valentin Kipiatkov, Chief Scientist
    Valentin Kipiatkov brings to JetBrains more than eight years’ professional experience in mathematics and computer science-related fields. Before JetBrains, he headed key teams as lead developer and system architect at TogetherSoft. Prior to TogetherSoft, he headed a team devoted to research and development of CPU instruction set optimizers for mobile devices.

Eugene Belyaev will be available for press and analysts, and will also direct the hands-on demos of the features and unique built-in intelligence that make IntelliJ IDEA the preferred IDE of expert Java developers. The JetBrains team will show how the new version automates difficult, exacting tasks that drain a project’s time, leaving developers free to create better software faster and more efficiently.
