JetBrains AI Help

Data retention

JetBrains is committed to meeting the trust, safety, and security needs of its individual and enterprise customers. This applies to JetBrains APIs and products (e.g. AI Assistant, Junie).

Does JetBrains retain any of my data?

No, JetBrains does not persist any customer data unless a user opts-in to Detailed Data Collection. Your data is used only for one specific immediate task and discarded immediately after completion. This is usually referred to as Zero Data Retention (ZDR).

For more information, see Product Data Collection and Usage Notice.

What third-party LLM providers does JetBrains work with?

AI Assistant and Junie use third-party models from (in alphabetical order): Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI. AI Assistant also enables users to use LM Studio and Ollama to access third-party models. The data retention policies are governed by these respective services.

Do these third-parties retain any of my data?
