# Disable Air in IDEs

> For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](https://www.jetbrains.com/help/air/llms.txt).

What you can do depends on your role:

* If you are an individual user or a member of an organization, you can disable or uninstall the plugin in your IDE. For instructions, refer to [Disable or uninstall the plugin](#disable-air-plugin).

* If you are an organization administrator, you typically configure AI access and policies in [JetBrains Console](jb-console.html) or [IDE Services](https://www.jetbrains.com/ide-services/). If you also need to turn off Air in IDEs on specific machines or enforce the policies of your organization on them, refer to [Manage Air in IDEs on user machines](air-in-ides-manage-user-machines.html).

If you previously switched to Air in IDEs from AI Assistant and want to go back, refer to [Return to AI Assistant](#return-to-ai-assistant).

## Return to AI Assistant

If you previously [switched to
Air in IDEs from AI Assistant](https://www.jetbrains.com/help/ai-assistant/switch-to-air.html), AI Assistant is hidden from the IDE. To bring it back, follow the instructions in [the AI Assistant
documentation](https://www.jetbrains.com/help/ai-assistant/switch-to-air.html).

You do not need to disable Air in IDEs to return to AI Assistant. If you no longer need Air in IDEs, disable it afterward, as described in [Disable or uninstall the plugin](#disable-air-plugin).
