# Docker Compose settings

Procedure: Enable the Docker plugin

This functionality relies on the [Docker](https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/7724-docker)  plugin, which  is bundled and enabled in CLion   by default. If the relevant features are not available, make sure that you did not disable the plugin.

1. Press `Ctrl+Alt+S` (Windows), `⌘ Comma` (macOS), `⌘ Comma` (IntelliJ IDEA Classic (macOS)), `⌘ Comma` (macOS System Shortcuts), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (XWin), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (GNOME), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (KDE), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (Emacs), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (Sublime Text), `⌘ Comma` (Sublime Text (macOS)), `⌘ Comma` (Xcode), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (Visual Studio), `⌘ Comma` (Visual Studio (macOS)), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (ReSharper), `⌘ Comma` (ReSharper (macOS)), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (QtCreator), `⌘ Comma` (QtCreator (macOS)), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (NetBeans), `Ctrl+Alt+S` (Eclipse), `⌘ Comma` (Eclipse (macOS)) to open settings and then select `Plugins`.

2. Open the Installed tab, find the Docker plugin, and select the checkbox next to the plugin name.

Configure service completion in Docker Compose files. For more details, refer to [Complete a service configuration](docker-compose.html#complete-service-configuration).

Enable Docker Compose service completion
: Select the option to enable automatic completion of service configurations in Docker Compose files.

Show popup on basic completion invocation
: Select the option to use the basic completion shortcut (`Ctrl+Space` (Windows), `⌃ Space` (macOS), `⌃ Space` (IntelliJ IDEA Classic (macOS)), `⌃ Space` (macOS System Shortcuts), `Ctrl+Space` (XWin), `Ctrl+Space` (GNOME), `Ctrl+Space` (KDE), `Alt+/` (Emacs), `Ctrl+Space` (Sublime Text), `⌃ Space` (Sublime Text (macOS)), `⌃ Space` (Xcode), `Ctrl+Space` (Visual Studio), `⌃ Space` (Visual Studio (macOS)), `Ctrl+Space` (ReSharper), `⌃ Space` (ReSharper (macOS)), `Ctrl+Space` (QtCreator), `⌃ Space` (QtCreator (macOS)), `Ctrl+Space` (NetBeans), `Ctrl+Space` (Eclipse), `⌃ Space` (Eclipse (macOS))) to invoke the Services popup.

Show inline service completion hint
: Select the option to display a hint in the editor, guiding how to add a service by its name or from the available list.
