Code Inspection: Non-ASCII characters

Reports code elements that use non-ASCII symbols in an unusual context.

Example:

  • Non-ASCII characters used in identifiers, strings, or comments.

  • Identifiers written in different languages, such as my–°ollection with the letter C written in Cyrillic.

  • Comments or strings containing Unicode symbols, such as long dashes and arrows.

Suppress an inspection in the editor

  1. Place the caret at the highlighted line and press Alt+Enter or click the Intention action icon.

  2. Click the arrow next to the inspection you want to suppress and select the necessary suppress action.
