DataGrip 2024.1 Help

Code Inspection: Missing return statement

Reports functions that have no RETURN statements.

Example (Oracle):

CREATE FUNCTION foo RETURN int AS BEGIN END;

The foo function must return the integer value but the function body returns nothing. To fix the error, add a RETURN statement (for example, return 1;).

CREATE FUNCTION foo RETURN int AS BEGIN RETURN 1; END;

Suppress an inspection in the editor

  1. Place the caret at the highlighted line and press Alt+Enter or click the Intention action icon.

  2. Click the arrow next to the inspection you want to suppress and select the necessary suppress action.
