Locating Symbols in Assembly Explorer

Navigate | Locate in Assembly Explorer

Locate in Assembly Explorer is a handy navigation feature that lets you highlight a corresponding item in the Assembly Explorer for the document that is currently open in the Code Viewer. If the cursor is on a type member, the item corresponding to this member is highlighted; if the cursor is elsewhere in the document, the root type of the document is highlighted.

To locate the current symbol in Assembly Explorer

  1. In the Code Viewer, set the caret to a symbol that you would like to locate in Assembly Explorer.
  2. On the main menu, choose Navigate | Locate in Assembly Explorer or press Shift+Alt+L.

The Assembly Explorer window opens and the corresponding item is highlighted.

This feature is inspired by and borrowed from JetBrains ReSharper, a developer productivity tool for Microsoft Visual Studio.
