dotPeek 2017.2 Help

Go To Assembly

Navigate | Go To Assembly
Ctrl+Shift+N

This command navigates you to any assembly or a decompiled file within all assemblies currently loaded in the Assembly Explorer window and all assemblies referenced from those assemblies..

Note that this command works in global scope, i.e. you do not need to bring your focus to the code viewer to invoke it.

To go to an assembly or to a decompiled file

  1. In the main menu, choose Navigate | Go To Assembly or press Ctrl+Shift+N.
  2. In the Enter assembly name pop-up that appears, start typing the item name. As you type, the lookup list narrows down, suggesting names that match the entered substring.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Click on the desired item to open it in the editor.
    • Select the desired item by pressing Up and Down and then press Enter to open it in the editor.
    • To view and analyze the list of matched items in the Find Results window, click Show in Find Results ThemedIcon SearchResults Screen Gray or press + on the numeric keypad.

Case-insensitive CamelHumps is supported here: for example, you can easily find LocalElementConflictSearcher.cs by typing "LecS".

You can also use wildcards when specifying the name: '*' (asterisk) represents zero or more characters; '+' (plus), ':' (semicolon), '.' (dot), and '\' (backslash) separate parts of the type's fully qualified name.

This feature is inspired by and borrowed from JetBrains ReSharper, a developer productivity tool for Microsoft Visual Studio.
