Working with Workspaces

To store the results of your investigations, dotMemory uses workspaces. A workspace, as the name suggests, saves everything you see on the screen: all open analyses including all collected snapshots and analyses paths. In other words, it saves the current state of dotMemory.

The Difference Between Saving and Exporting a Workspace

Saving a workspace implies that the workspace will be stored in a predefined directory (C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\JetBrains\dotMemory\[version]\Workspaces by default) in an unpacked format. This is convenient when you work with the workspace locally.

If you want to move a workspace to another computer, you should use the export functionality. In this case, the workspace will be saved as a single archive to any specified directory.
