Hub 2018.3 Help

Log in to Hub

Hub supports two methods of authorization that you can use to log in and access data from an external client.

Method

Description

Permanent Token Authorization

Permanent tokens enable token-based authorization for REST API calls in scripts and applications. This feature increases security for Hub integrations with external services.

We recommend that you use permanent tokens for authorization with the Hub REST API.

OAuth 2.0 Authorization

OAuth 2.0 is a protocol that lets your application request an access token from Hub. Hub supports a range of authorization flows. The flow that you use in your client application depends on the information that is available to the client and the location from which the client access resources in Hub (from a web browser or server-based client application).

Use OAuth 2.0 when your application requires client-side authentication.
