To edit a servlet
  1. Select the servlet in the Servlets Configured pane, tab General, and click icon_openLocalVersion or select Edit in the context menu. The Servlet Initialization Params pane opens.
  2. To specify another class to implement the servlet, click Change Class. The Choose Servlet Class dialog box opens.
  3. Select the name of the relevant class and click OK.


    To search among the classes outside the current project, select the Include non-project classes check box.

  4. To rename the servlet, click Rename Servlet. The Rename Servlet dialog box opens.
  5. In the Servlet Name text box, edit the root path of the servlet name.
  6. To automatically update the corresponding source code, click Refactor.
  7. To preview the refactoring results, click Preview. The Refactoring Preview window opens.


    The window is synchronized with the web.xml file in the Text tab.

  8. View the suggested refactoring. To accept the suggestions, click Do Refactor.
  9. Proceed with specifying the initialization attributes of the servlet.
