Navigating Between IDE Components

Suppose you have selected a file or member in one of the tool windows, and would like to quickly find it in the Project view. The Select Target pop-up menu moves the focus to the selected component of IntelliJ IDEA, the file system, etc.:

To navigate to the desired component

  1. On the main menu select Navigate and click Select In, or press Alt+F1.

    The Select Target pop-up menu shows up.

  2. Use the arrow keys or the mouse pointer to select the desired component. If your target is the Project tool window, you can select the desired view: Project, Scratches etc.
