New Project: Drupal Module

The right-hand pane of the Project Category and Options dialog looks as follows when you choose PHP in the left-hand pane and then choose Drupal Module from the list in the right-hand pane.

Use this dialog to generate and set up a module stub in compliance with the Drupal requirements.

The feature is supported only in the Ultimate edition when the Drupal Support plugin is installed and enabled. The plugin is not bundled with IntelliJ IDEA, but it can be installed from the JetBrains plugin repository as described in Managing plugins.



Project Name

In this field, specify the name of the project, by default it is the name of the folder specified in the location field.

Project Location

In this field, specify the path to the project folder where the project-related files will be stored.

installation path

In this field, specify the root folder of the installation.

Set up PHP | Include paths

  • Select this checkbox to have Drupal include paths automatically configured for the project.

    After you leave the dialog, the following paths will be added to the Include Paths list on the PHP page: <drupal installation root>/includes, <drupal installation root>/modules, and <drupal installation root>/sites/all/modules
  • Clear the checkbox to configure the include paths manually.


From this list, choose the version of Drupal to use, the supported versions are 6, 7, and 8.

Path to JConfig

In this field, provide the path to the Joomla's configuration.php created during Joomla! installation.
