New Project: Node.js Express App

The right-hand pane of the Project Category and Options dialog box looks as follows when you choose Static Web in the left-hand pane and then choose Node.js Express App from the list in the right-hand pane.

The feature is supported only in the Ultimate edition when the Node.js plugin is installed and enabled. The plugin is not bundled with IntelliJ IDEA, but it can be installed from the JetBrains plugin repository as described in Installing, Updating and Uninstalling Repository Plugins and Enabling and Disabling Plugins.

Project Name In this text box, specify the name of the project, by default it is the name of the folder specified in the location field.
Project Location In this text box, specify the path to the project folder where the project-related files will be stored.
Node interpreter In this field, specify the location of the Node.js executable file. In most cases, IntelliJ IDEA detects the Node.js executable and fills in the field automatically.
Npm executable In this field, specify the location of the Node.js package manager file npm.cmd. In most cases, IntelliJ IDEA detects the Node.js executable and fills in the field automatically.
Version From this drop-down list, choose the version of the template in accordance to which the stub will be generated. Click /help/img/idea/2017.2/refresh.png to refresh the list of available template versions.
Template From this drop-down list, choose the template engine to use. The available options are:
CSS From this drop-down list, choose the CSS to use preprocessor to use. The available options are:
