Google Vertex AI

Before configuring Google Cloud Vertex AI as your provider, set up your Google Cloud account and get a service account key.

Get a service account key

  1. In the Google Cloud Console, navigate to IAM & Admin | Service Accounts.

  2. Create a new service account with the role Vertex AI Service Agent. Once created, click the email address of the service account.

  3. In the service account, navigate to the Keys tab and create a new JSON key.

  4. Save the downloaded JSON key file. You will need its contents when configuring the provider in JetBrains Central Console.

  5. Ensure the Vertex AI API is enabled in your Google Cloud project to allow access to the required models.

Add Vertex AI provider

  1. In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Providers.

If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are inactive, your role doesn't have the necessary permissions.

  2. Click Add provider and select Google Vertex AI. The Google Vertex AI provider card appears on the page.

  3. In the Project field, specify the name of the Google Cloud project.

  4. In the Region field, specify the Vertex AI region.

  5. In the Service account key field, specify the service account key in JSON format.

  6. Click Connect.

Once the connection is established, the available models appear in the provider card.

To add other models, click Add model in the Models table. For more information, refer to Managing models.

To edit the provider configuration, click Ellipsis icon in the provider card, then select Edit credentials and update the necessary fields.
