# Monitoring AI credit usage

> For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](https://www.jetbrains.com/help/jetbrains-console/main/llms.txt).

The AI access page shows how many [AI credits](plans-and-pricing.html#ai-credits) remain in the organization's shared pool, how many AI credits each user and service account has spent this month, and what percentage of their credit limit they have used. It also shows the combined AI credit usage and credit limits for users.

> **Note:**
> Viewing the page requires the [View AI access](roles.html#permissions_view_ai_access) permission. Managing AI credits requires the [Manage AI access](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_access) or [Manage organization](roles.html#permissions_manage_org) permission.
>
> If you have the [View AI access](roles.html#permissions_view_ai_access) or [Manage AI access](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_access) permission through a [group-scoped role](roles.html#role-scopes), you can view or manage only that group's members, including its subgroups.

To change how much a user or service account can spend, see [AI credit limits](ai-credit-limits.html). To track how they spend AI credits over time, see [AI credit consumption](ai-credits-consumption.html).

Procedure: View available AI credits for the organization

1. In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Access.

If you don't see this page, your role doesn't have the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

2. Review the value in the AI credits available information card at the top of the page.

This value shows the total number of AI credits available across all sources in your organization.

> **Note:**
> The AI credits available information card is shown only if you have the [View AI access](roles.html#permissions_view_ai_access) permission and either the [Manage licensing and billing](roles.html#permissions_manage_licensing_and_billing) or the [View AI settings](roles.html#permissions_view_ai_settings) permission.

Procedure: View current AI credit usage

1. In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Access.

If you don't see this page, your role doesn't have the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

2. Select the Users or Service accounts tab and search for a user or service account either by scrolling through the list or using the search field at the top of the table.

3. Review the value in the Usage % column in the table.

This value shows the percentage of the monthly credit limit consumed this month.

> **Tip:**
> When reviewing Usage %, keep in mind that a user-initiated action running through a service account is attributed to the user, not the service account. This is why a service account may show lower usage than expected or a user's usage may be higher than expected. For details, see [Service account usage costs](service-accounts.html#service-account-usage-costs).

> **Note:**
> The value in the Usage % column may exceed 100% in the following cases:
>
> * The Credit limit value is reduced for the user or service account below what they have already spent this month. Changing the limit doesn't affect the AI credits already spent.
>
> * Multiple AI requests start in parallel when the user or service account is close to their limit. In this case, all requests are processed, even if together they exceed the limit. As a result, the final usage can be slightly above 100%.

Procedure: View AI credit usage and limits across users

The values above the table on the Users tab show the sums of the Credits used and Credit limit columns for the users with AI access:

* Sum of credits used: the number of AI credits that the listed users spent this month.

* Sum of credit limits: the monthly credit limits of the listed users, added together. This is not a shared limit. Each user can spend AI credits only up to their own credit limit.

1. In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Access.

If you don't see this page, your role doesn't have the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

2. On the Users tab, do one of the following:

* To see the values for all listed users, review the values above the table. To narrow down the list, use the search field or filters at the top of the table.

* To see the values for specific users, select them using the checkboxes in the first column and review the values on the toolbar below the table. Selecting users requires the [Manage AI access](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_access) or [Manage organization](roles.html#permissions_manage_org) permission.

The values above the table include all users that match the search and filters, not only the users on the current page of the table. If you have the [View AI access](roles.html#permissions_view_ai_access) permission only through a [group-scoped role](roles.html#role-scopes), the values include only the users you can see.

Procedure: Access the AI credit usage report

1. In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Access.

If you don't see this page, your role doesn't have the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

2. In the AI credits available information card, click Usage report.

> **Note:**
> This link is visible to anyone who can view this page. Viewing the report additionally requires the [View AI analytics](roles.html#permissions_view_ai_analytics) permission.

3. Review the data on the Credit consumption page. For details, see [Credit consumption](ai-credits-consumption.html).

When one or more users or service accounts have reached or are close to their credit limit (Usage % is 80% or higher), the number of those users or service accounts is displayed in an information card at the top of the page. For more details, see [Identify users or service accounts running low on AI credits](#view-users-out-of-ai-credits).

Those who have reached their limit can no longer use AI-powered features until you raise their limit or the next month starts.

Procedure: Identify users or service accounts running low on AI credits

1. In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Access.

If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are inactive, make sure your role has the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

2. Select the Users or Service accounts tab.

3. In the information card at the top of the page, find Approaching their AI credit limit and click Show.

Users or service accounts that have reached or are close to their credit limit are selected in the table. If needed, you can [change their individual limits](ai-credit-limits.html#set-ai-credit-limit) using the toolbar below the table.
