PhpStorm 2022.2 Help

Code Inspection: Logical expression has same operands

Reports the expressions that use the same operands, but should rather use different operands (for example, $var == $var). These include comparison, logical, null-coalescing, subtraction, and division expressions.

In the following example, the variable $a is used on both sides of the comparison operator == and is thus compared to itself. The result of such expression is always true.

if ($a == $a) { performAction(); }

Suppress an inspection in the editor

  1. Position the caret at the highlighted line and press Alt+Enter or click the Intention action icon.

  2. Click the arrow next to the inspection you want to suppress and select the necessary suppress action.
