Running a Profiling Session

This chapter will guide you through the main profiling steps:

  1. Running dotTrace.
  2. Starting the profiling session on a local or remote computer.
  3. Configuring the profiling session.
  4. Controlling the profiling session: starting and stopping data collection, getting performance snapshots, and so on.
    Note that you can control profiling in two ways: manually (using the Controller window) or automatically (using the API).
