dotTrace 2024.1 Help

Run Profiling

The purpose of this chapter is to guide you through the main profiling steps:

  1. Running dotTrace.

  2. Configuring the profiler.

  3. Starting a profiling session.

  4. Controlling profiling: getting performance snapshot, detaching the profiler, and so on. Note that you can control profiling either manually (using the control buttons in dotTrace) or automatically (using the API).

Alternatively, you can perform profiling using the dotTrace command-line profiler.
