Blank Lines
This page lets you configure whether ReSharper should increase or decrease the number of blank lines around namespaces, members, regions and groups of import directives. You can adjust the values and check the preview pane in the bottom of the page to see how your preferences affect the code.
Options in the Preserve Existing Formatting section are applied when ReSharper reformats existing code whereas the Blank Lines section contains options that take effect when you type new code.
The options that you configure on this page apply in the following cases:
- When you produce new code by typing or by using ReSharper's code completion features.
- When you produce new code by applying ReSharper's code templates.
- When new code is produces with the ReSharper's code generation features or refactorings.
- When you reformat existing code.
To configure auto-formatting of new code, use the Auto-format on semicolon and Auto-format on closing brace options on the page of ReSharper options.
