ReSharper Web Help

ReSharper enables you to navigate between cultures up and down the culture hierarchy. It prompts what resource entry overrides and where it is overridden. The most convenient way to navigate between resource usage in different cultures is using the resource hierarchy marks.

To navigate between cultures using hierarchy marks
  1. Open a .resx file in the XML Editor.
  2. For each resource defined in multiple cultures, you will see a hierarchy mark on the left bar.
  3. Hover the mouse over the hierarchy mark to see what resource entry overrides and where it is overridden:
  4. To navigate to definition of the resource in the particular culture, click on the hierarchy mark and choose the desired culture.

You can navigate from resource entries in a culture-neutral resource file to corresponding entries in culture-specific resource files with the Go to Derived Symbols command, and vice versa with the Go to Base Symbols command.

To navigate to base resource entry
  1. Open a culture-specific .resx file in the XML Editor.
  2. Place the caret at the name of a resource.
  3. Choose ReSharper | Navigate | Base Symbols on the main menu, or press Ctrl+U.
  4. If there are two or more base resource declarations, select one of them from the drop-down list.
To navigate to derived resource entry
  1. Open a culture-neutral .resx file in the XML Editor.
  2. Place the caret at the name of a resource.
  3. Choose ReSharper | Navigate | Derived Symbols on the main menu, or press Ctrl+Alt+B.
  4. If there are two or more derived entries, select one of them from the drop-down list.

You can also use the Go to Implementation command that will navigate you to all definitions of a particular resource in all related resource files.

To navigate to resource implementation
  1. Open a culture-neutral or a culture-specific .resx file in the XML Editor.
  2. Place the caret at the name of a resource.
  3. Choose ReSharper | Navigate | Go to Implementation on the main menu, or press Ctrl++Shift+Alt+B.
  4. If there are two or more implementations of the resource, select one of them from the drop-down list.
