Keyboard Shortcuts

YouTrack is a keyboard-centric application and provides enough keyboard support to let you forget about using the mouse in most cases. For almost any operation you need to do, whether it's creating, editing or navigating between issues, commenting, changing attributes — YouTrack provides a shortcut.

These shortcuts are mapped to keys on a keyboard with a functional layout for English. Keys that differ for US and UK variants are not mapped to any shortcuts. If your keyboard has a visual layout for a different language, you can switch the language preference for your operating system to English and use these shortcuts with the default mapping. Alternatively, an administrator can customize the keyboard shortcuts for your YouTrack server. For more information, see Customize Keyboard Shortcuts.

Issues List

Use these shortcuts to select and update issues that are displayed in the issue list. Note the differences between one or more issues that are selected in the list and the current issue. The current issue is the single issue that is highlighted in the list. Selected issues have a check mark in the checkbox.

`Ctrl` + `C`	`⌘` + `C`	Select the issue ID of the current issue. Repeat this action to copy the issue ID to the clipboard.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `Shift` + `C`	`Option` + `Shift` + `⌘` + `C`	Select the issue ID of the current issue. Repeat this action to select the issue ID and summary. Repeat again to deselect all.
`Enter`	`Return` or `Enter`	Open the current issue in full page view.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `Insert`	`Control` + `Option` + `Insert`	Open the New Issue page to create a subtask of the current issue.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `A`	`Control` + `Option` + `A`	Open a dialog to locate and attach a file to the current issue.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `C`	`Control` + `Option` + `C`	Open the Apply Command dialog to apply the `comment` command. The comment is either added to the current issue or to all selected issues.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `J` or any letter	`Control` + `Option` + `J` or any letter	Open the Apply Command dialog. The specified command is either applied to the current issue or all selected issues.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `K`	`Control` + `Option` + `K`	Apply the most recent command to all of the issues that are selected in the list.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `V` or `Ctrl` + `Alt` + `S`	`Control` + `Option` + `V`	Open a dialog to upload an image file to the image editor.
`Ctrl` + `V`	`⌘` + `V`	Attach an image from the clipboard to the current issue.
`Ctrl` + `Alt` + `Equal Sign`	`Control` + `Option` + `Equal Sign`	Increase the level of issue detail.

Full Page View

Use these shortcuts to create and edit issues in full page view.

Apply Command Dialog

Use these shortcuts to apply commands to one or more issues.

Search Box

Use these shortcuts to set your search context and execute a search request.

Agile Boards

Use these shortcuts to work with issues that are represented as cards and swimlanes on an agile board.

When you add a new card or open a card in view or edit mode, you can use the keyboard shortcuts that work in full page view.
The backlog is a list of issues that match a saved search. When you view the backlog, you can use the keyboard shortcuts that work in the issues list.

Image Editor

Use these shortcuts to edit an image in the image editor.

`Alt` + `C`	`Option` + `C`	Select the crop tool. Drag to set the crop boundary. Drag the handles to adjust the crop boundary.
`Alt` + `B`	`Option` + `B`	Select the brush tool. Drag to draw a line on the image. To draw a straight line, hold down the `Ctrl` (`Control` for Mac) key while dragging.
`Alt` + `M`	`Option` + `M`	Select the move tool. Drag to move the image.
`Alt` + `H`	`Option` + `H`	Select the highlight tool. Drag to select an area to highlight on the image. Drag the handles to adjust the highlighted area.
`Alt` + `T`	`Option` + `T`	Select the text tool. Click the image to add a callout box where you can enter text. Drag the handles to adjust the size of the callout box.
`Alt` + `B`	`Option` + `B`	Select the blur tool. Drag to select an area to blur on the image.
`Alt` + `L`	`Option` + `L`	Revert all changes to the image.
`Alt` + `Z`	`⌘` + `Z`	Undo the previous action.
`Ctrl` + `Shift` + `Z`	`⌘` + `Shift` + `Z`	Redo the previous action.
