JetBrains
Annual Highlights
2026

Welcome to JetBrains' Annual Highlights. As a privately owned company, we are guided not by short-term market pressures, but by a long-term commitment to the developers and organizations who rely on us to do their best work.

That independence allows us to focus on what matters most: building an integral development experience – one where tools work together seamlessly, and teams can move forward with confidence.

Transparency is important to us. In this report, we outline how we allocate our resources, where we are investing to elevate the end-to-end development experience, and how we continue to grow in a sustainable and responsible way.

Building for Developers

Wherever you look, there’s something new in AI. It has been rapidly changing the world in ways no one could have fully predicted. We know that not every AI solution is gold, and adoption of the best that AI can offer in dev workflows is still hindered by a number of real-world challenges.

We have developed:

Junie

A coding agent from JetBrains that’s available in JetBrains IDEs.

Open Platform. Real Choice.

Our tools are built as platforms. We have always believed in freedom of choice as a requirement for better innovation. Developers should be able to shape their environment around the tools, workflows, and technologies they choose. That belief has only grown stronger as AI, cloud tooling, and specialized developer services continue to expand.

Platform partnerships

Our vision is straightforward: Regardless of the language, framework, LLM, or agent you choose, we will do our best to support it. We are building an open ecosystem that delivers you industry-leading solutions without vendor lock-in.

42

Active Platform Integrations

In 2025, we continued expanding JetBrains IDEs as a flexible, extensible platform. We worked closely with some of the industry's most innovative technology companies to help developers bring the latest technologies into their workflows.

AI service providers across the JetBrains AI platform

JetBrains AI services combine models hosted by JetBrains with leading external AI providers, giving developers and organizations more flexibility in how they build and work.

This commitment is reinforced by Agent Client Protocol (ACP), developer by JetBrains and Zed, which helps as the foundation for integrating multiple models and agentic capabilities within JetBrains IDEs. By combining ACP with strong partnerships across the AI landscape, we ensure that developers can adopt new technologies with flexibility, control, and confidence.

Product Development

2025 brought many challenges, including emerging disruptive technologies and fractured politics, with AI reshaping expectations around software development. We focused on improving and adapting our products in a thoughtful, developer-first way to better support the realities of modern development.

Junie: A new way to code

In 2025, we launched Junie, our AI coding agent built directly into our IDEs.

Junie works inside developers' existing workflows. It understands project context, integrates with IDE capabilities, and operates within the same environment where developers already read, refactor, test, and ship code. Junie reflects our belief that AI should augment developer expertise and be reliable, inspectable, and aligned with real engineering practices.

Deeply integrated AI for JetBrains IDEs

This year, JetBrains brought truly context-aware AI into developers’ workflows, embedding powerful assistance and coding agents directly into our IDEs.

Our AI helps eliminate routine work – thanks to features like smart code completion and test creation, as well as automated refactorings, documentation generation, and intelligent problem-solving – so developers can stay in the flow and focus on what matters most: building great software. With tools like AI Assistant and Junie deeply integrated with your code and project context, we're redefining productivity while keeping control, privacy, and developer intent front and center.

Product releases

We continue with our cadence of three major releases per year for our IDE products. Key updates over the last year include new unified distributions for IntelliJ IDEA and PyCharm, as we move away from supporting multiple community versions and instead offer a single version with licensed features. Additionally, a new Islands theme has been included by default across all our IDEs, giving them a more modern look that makes development more comfortable.

Enterprise Business Overview

JetBrains tools often start with one developer. Then a team adopts them. Then another. And eventually, they become part of how an entire organization builds software. In 2025, we continued supporting that journey – from individual choice to company-wide standard.

Teams in 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 use JetBrains tools.

Our IDEs run inside large banks, global tech companies, healthcare systems, automotive platforms, and aerospace teams. They support monorepos, distributed systems, regulated environments, and thousands of developers working in parallel.

As organizations scale from a handful of developers to thousands, their tooling requirements evolve.

To support this growth, we continue investing in enterprise-grade tooling management, including IDE Services and the ongoing development of JetBrains Cloud Platform. Together, these initiatives are designed to help organizations manage IDEs and related tooling across distributed teams.

These solutions enable organizations to:

  • Standardise environments
  • Roll out updates
  • Automate license management and distribution
  • Maintain transparency

Our Trust Center is the central hub for security, compliance, and governance documentation, providing security teams and decision-makers with the clarity they need during reviews and procurement.

EMEA is both the fastest-growing region (+39.79% YoY) and the largest revenue contributor ($464.1M). Europe, in particular, frequently appears on the lists of most active users and fastest-growing countries by paying customer base.

We’re seeing strong growth across regions – a sign that teams around the world want reliable, AI-powered tools that still put developers first.

Community

Developers don’t build software in isolation – they learn from each other, share their experiences, and grow together.

In 2025, the JetBrains community continued to evolve from a base of users into a global network of creators, educators, and collaborators. This ecosystem strengthens not only individual developers but the broader development experience. Tools improve when informed by real-world practice, and platforms become more resilient when shaped by active participation.

Building an integral development experience extends beyond products. It requires sustained dialogue with the people who use them.

Open source collaborations

We support the people behind non-commercial, widely recognized open-source projects by providing core contributors free JetBrains tools. That kind of support helps maintainers focus on building and maintaining software the community relies on.

In 2025, we supported:
