Terms and Conditions of the IntelliJ IDEA 25 Giveaway

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS GIVEAWAY

A purchase or payment will not increase your chances of winning.

By participating, all participants in the IntelliJ IDEA 25 Giveaway(the "Giveaway") agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. ORGANIZER: JetBrains s.r.o., Na Hrebenech II 1718/8, Prague 4, 14700, Czech Republic ("Organizer").
  2. TIMELINE
    • The Giveaway takes place on 19 January 2026, from 15:00 (CET) until all Prizes have been awarded ("Giveaway timeframe").
    • Any submissions received outside of the designated Giveaway timeframe shall be considered null and void. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for participation attempts made before the start date or after the closing of the Giveaway.
  3. ELIGIBILITY
    • The Giveaway is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Participants who are minors in their country of residence may participate only with the prior consent of their parent or legal guardian, where required by applicable law.
    • The limit is one entry per participant.
    • The following categories of people are NOT eligible to enter the Giveaway:
      • Employees, or their family members or close associates, of Organizer or its subsidiaries, affiliates, or resellers.
  4. NATURE OF THE GIVEAWAY
    • Goal. The objective of the Giveaway is to foster community engagement and to express the Organizer’s appreciation for the long-standing loyalty and support of the IntelliJ IDEA user base.
    • Platform(s). The Giveaway is hosted on https://jetbrains.com/lp/intellij-idea-25/
    • How to enter. To participate in the Giveaway individuals complete the following steps:
      • Select one of the predefined visual styles and upload a photograph.
      • By uploading a photo to generate a stylized postcard, the participant acknowledges that the image will be processed via the Vertex AI AP, which is governed by its terms and conditions.
        • Uploaded photos and generated postcards are stored securely in the Organizer’s infrastructure for a maximum period of 6 months for the sole purpose of participation and postcard retrieval. After this period, all such files are automatically and permanently deleted.
        • The Organizer may process basic technical data (including IP addresses and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and service optimization.
      • Review the generated postcard.
      • Participation is voluntary, and the participant may choose not to proceed if they are unsatisfied with the result - generated postcard.
      • Share their generated postcard on social media platforms and reveal prize notification.
      • Complete form claim.
  5. PRIZES
    • Prizes. The Giveaway includes a variety of digital and physical prizes. Eligible participant who completes the entry requirements during Giveaway timeframe will receive one (1) assigned prize from the following (subject to availability and while last):
      • Digital Prizes:
        • 200 x JetBrains Licenses (valid for one year for IntelliJ IDEA). Approximate retail value 199$ each.
        • 100 x JetBrains AI Tokens Packs for 100 tokens each. Approximate retail value of each pack is 100$.
      • Physical Merchandise:
        • JetBrains branded apparel and accessories:
          • 200 socks
          • 250 keychains
          • 100 magic 8-balls
          • 400 mascot figurines, 100 of each design
          • 200 caps
          Approximate retail value ranges from 6$ to 65$ per item.
    • Prizes are assigned by automated selection immediately upon the reveal of the prize notification. Once all Prizes have been awarded, Giveaway concludes.
    • The participant must complete the mandatory fields in the claim form (including, but not limited to, full name, email address, and, for physical prizes, a valid shipping address and telephone number).
    • Providing inaccurate or incomplete information, however, will result in the forfeiture of the prize. No alternative prize will be awarded in such cases.
    • After the Giveaway concludes the postcard generation and sharing functionality will remain active for entertainment purposes. Users may continue to create and share postcards, but no further prizes (digital or physical) will be awarded.
    • Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash (if applicable), transferred, assigned or substituted.
    • The Organizer reserves the right to change or replace the prize(s) with prize(s) of equal, comparable or greater value.
  6. WINNER SELECTION
    • Each participant is eligible to win only one (1) prize during the entire Giveaway timeframe.
    • Determination of winners occurs instantaneously upon the successful completion of the entry requirements during the Giveaway timeframe.
    • Winners are notified of their prize immediately via an on screen notification upon completing the entry requirements.
    • All winners will be notified that they have won the prize unless they are found to have violated these terms and conditions.
    • All awards of prizes are subject to these terms and conditions.
    • The reporting and payment of all applicable taxes, fees, surcharges, or governmental duties of any kind arising out of or related to acceptance or use of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner of that prize. JetBrains reserves the right to retain any tax withholdings applicable under the relevant legislation.
    • Each winner may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, a signed copy of these terms and conditions, documents required under relevant tax legislation, and/or a liability/publicity release (except where prohibited by law), and shall provide any additional information required by the Organizer. Failure to provide, or any delay in providing, such requested information or documentation may result in disqualification.
    • The return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable or repeated inability by the Organizer to contact a potential winner using the means of contact provided may result in disqualification and the prize may be returned to the prize pool or forfeited.
    • The prize draw is open only to the winners provided that those are not subject to comprehensive EU, U.S. or U.N. sanctions and export control restrictions, such as North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Syria, Russian Federation, Belarus, the Crimea region, territories of the so-called entities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics or non-government-controlled areas of the oblasts of Ukraine – such as the Kherson and Zaporozhye oblasts.
  7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
    • In case Organizer makes available to participants as a part of the Giveaway materials, data, tools or other content - they are the property of Organizer, its affiliates, or partners. Any such content may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Unless the Organizer gives participants written permission, they may not copy, share, modify, download, upload, publish or use any of this content for any purpose other than participation in the Giveaway.
    • Participants retain full ownership of any materials, content, or work results submitted as part of the Giveaway. However, by submitting any such content, participants grant Organizer a free, non-exclusive, worldwide, transferable, perpetual, and irrevocable license to use the submitted content for any lawful purpose. This includes, without limitation, the rights to copy, display, adapt, modify, distribute, publish, translate, and create derivative works from the content, in any medium and through any channels, whether digital, print, or otherwise. The Organizer is under no obligation to use any submitted content. Participants waive any right to withdraw the license on the basis of non-use or limited use by the Organizer.
    • Participants acknowledge and agree that:
      • They will not receive any compensation or payment for the submitted content;
      • They do not expect the content to be or remain confidential;
      • Organizer may publicly display or feature submitted content alongside advertisements, promotional materials, or other public communications.
    • Participants represent and warrant that:
      • They own or obtained all necessary rights to the content submitted;
      • The content does not infringe upon the law, rights of any third party, including but not limited to intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights;
      • All necessary permissions, approvals, and licenses for any third-party materials included in the submission have been obtained. Upon request, Participants must provide the Organizer with a copy of any documentation confirming such permissions, approvals, or licenses.
    • Any violation of the above may result in immediate disqualification from the Giveaway and forfeiture of any awarded prize.
  8. MISCELLANEOUS
    • The Organizer reserves the right to discontinue, cancel, or reschedule the Giveaway if necessary or for valid reasons at its sole discretion.
    • If the Giveaway involves use of third-party platforms,e.g., X, Instagram, GitHub, YouTube, etc.("Platforms"), Participants must have an account in good standing and comply with the terms and conditions of Platforms. This Giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, any Platforms.
    • Any submission must be Participant’s original work; not previously published or submitted to a substantially similar contests or giveaways; not infringe any third-party rights; not contain personal data of others without consent; and not be unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable.
    • No bots, scripts, automated or macro entries; no reverse-engineering, scraping, or exploiting vulnerabilities; no collaboration beyond what the terms and conditions expressly allow; Organizer may disqualify entries that, in its sole discretion, gain an unfair advantage or violate these terms and conditions. Any user-submitted content and AI-generated output is the sole responsibility of the participant, and the Organizer does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for such content.
    • Any entries determined to violate these terms and conditions shall be void. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of this Giveaway (such as, by way of example but not limitation, using more than one account to endeavor to garner more than one prize), as solely determined by Organizer, will be disqualified and their eligibility terminated. Should any portion of the Giveaway be, in Organizer’s sole opinion, compromised by causes which, in the sole opinion of Organizer, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Giveaway, or submission of entries, Organizer reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Giveaway.
    • If Organizer is prevented or hindered in any way in its administration of the Content or its ability to deliver the prize(s) to the prizewinner(s), it may, in its sole discretion, stop the Giveaway and recommence it at another time under the same conditions, or select another winner.
    • The Organizer is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Giveaway, or for any technical error that may occur during the administration of this Giveaway. Organizer assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, or theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, any submissions.
    • PARTICIPANTS ENTER THE GIVEAWAY AT THEIR OWN RISK. PRIZES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, (I) ORGANIZER HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, WITH RESPECT TO THE GIVEAWAY OR THE PRIZES AND (II) ORGANIZER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO PARTICIPATION OR INABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GIVEAWAY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BY PARTICIPATING, PARTICIPANTS AGREE TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE ORGANIZER FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATION OR ANY PRIZE.
    • The Organizer assumes no responsibility for any computer, online, or telephone transmission or technical malfunctions that may occur during participation in the Giveaway. Organizer is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether arising from website users, Giveaway participants, or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Giveaway, or for any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of Giveaway submissions. The Organizer assumes no responsibility for any error, interruption, defect, or delay in operation or transmission, failures or technical malfunction of the internet, or any telephone networks or lines, computer online systems, servers, computer hardware, software, or email service providers. The Organizer is not responsible for any injury or damage to participants or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Giveaway (if applicable). Some jurisdictions may not allow certain limitations on liability and so the foregoing limitations may not apply to every participant.
    • To the extent permitted by the law, Organizer will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property because of any person entering the Giveaway or accepting or using any prize, including, without limitation, non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit.
    • The Giveaway and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic; by entering the Giveaway all participants agree to personal jurisdiction and venue therein
    • These terms and conditions constitute the final, complete, and exclusive understanding between the Organizer and any participant with respect to the participant's participation in the Giveaway, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous representations, rules, or agreements, whether written or oral.
    • In the event of any disputes regarding the Giveaway, including eligibility, conduct, or prize awards, the decision of the Organizer shall be final and binding and the Organizer reserves the right to interpret these terms and conditions at its sole discretion.
    • This Giveaway does not constitute a lottery or gambling activity within the meaning of applicable law and it is void where prohibited.
  9. PRIVACY NOTICE
    • Participation in the Giveaway requires processing of personal data and the following data will be processed for each participant: first name, last name, email address, shared postcard URL, country, city, delivery address, postal code, contact number, personal image, , delivery address of the winner.
