PyCharm 2.7.2 Web Help

With PyCharm, you can run Django manage.py utility from within the IDE. Each task of this utility is executed in the manage.py tab of the Run tool window.

To run a task of the manage.py utility
  1. On the main menu, choose Tools | Run manage.py task, or press Ctrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RCtrl+Alt+RAlt RAlt RAlt R.
  2. In the Enter manage.py task name dialog box, start typing the desired task name. As you type, the suggestion list shrinks to show the matching tasks only. Note that on typing an asterisk, PyCharm displays the complete list of available tasks.

  3. Select the desired task.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Press EnterEnterEnterEnterEnterEnterEnterEnterEnterEnterEnter to start the task. If a task requires mandatory parameters, type them in the manage.py <task name> dialog box. For the optional parameters, this dialog box will be omitted, and the task will start immediately.
    • 1.2+Press Shift+EnterShift+EnterShift+EnterShift+EnterShift+EnterShift+EnterShift+EnterShift+EnterShift EnterShift EnterShift Enter to open manage.py <task name> dialog box even though only optional parameters are required. This is helpful for the seldom-used parameters, such as - verbose.

Run manage.py task command is available for both local and remote interpreters.
