Code templates, as well as other settings, are stored in settings layers. For more information about layers and how to manage them, see Managing and Sharing Options. From the storage point of view, four groups of code templates exist:
- Predefined templates are delivered with ReSharper. They are stored in your local machine together with other default settings of ReSharper.
- Solution personal templates are defined for a particular solution only and not shared with anyone else.
- Solution team-shared templates are defined for a particular solution only and shared among team members by putting the team-shared settings layer under a version control system.
- Custom local templates are defined and available in all solutions on the local machine.
If you need to move code templates between layers or share local templates, study the Managing Templates section.
