AI management
JetBrains Console lets you manage access to JetBrains AI in your organization, control AI Credits limits and their spending, and track the usage, adoption, and effectiveness of AI in one place.
This page explains the key terms and concepts related to AI management in JetBrains Console.
License with AI
A license with AI is any JetBrains license that includes AI Credits, enabling access to AI features in JetBrains products.
The following licenses include AI Credits:
AI Pro
AI Ultimate
JetBrains Console lets you purchase licenses with AI for your organization, assign them to individual users, and revoke them when necessary.
To learn more about licensing and pricing, see AI service licensing and JetBrains AI Plans & Pricing.
AI Credits
AI Credits are paid units used to track and charge the use of JetBrains AI features. These credits are consumed when users in your organization utilize AI tools and features that are charged in AI Credits. Each AI Credit equals $1 USD charged in your billing currency.
JetBrains licenses with AI include a built-in allocation of AI Credits called AI quota, and may include an additional allocation of AI Credits called top-up AI Credits purchased separately.
You can monitor current monthly AI Credits usage on the Users and licensing page. For AI Credits consumption data and analytics, see AI Credits consumption.
AI quota
AI quota (also referred to as quota) refers to the monthly AI Credits that come with each license. The quota is consumed first and renewed every 30 days. Its size depends on the license and cannot be configured.
You can monitor AI quota usage on the Users and licensing page.
If the quota is exhausted, users can start using top-up AI Credits to continue working with AI features until the quota is renewed, or switch to a different license with AI, if available.
Top-up AI Credits
Top-up AI Credits are additional AI Credits that can be purchased separately. They extend the AI quota that comes with licenses. Top-up AI Credits are consumed only after the monthly AI quota is exhausted, and remain in use until the quota is renewed.
Org admins can add top-up AI Credits for their organization and allocate them to users by setting a monthly limit.
Top-up limit
The top-up AI Credits limit defines the maximum number of top-up AI Credits each user can consume each month beyond their AI quota.
Every user with a license receives a default monthly top-up AI Credits limit set at the organization level. You can override this default value by setting custom limits for individual users.
The limit is associated with a license with AI. When you set the limit, it applies to each license with AI you assigned to the user.
The top-up limit applies only to the licenses that are in use. If the user has not interacted with AI under certain licenses, the top-up AI Credits limit won't be applied to them.
The limit doesn't apply to licenses from other organizations or the user's personal licenses.
If you assign an additional license to the user, the top-up limit applies to the new license as well, increasing the total AI Credits balance available to the user.
When you revoke the license, the top-up AI Credits limit associated with that license remains with it. When you reassign the license to another user, the new user receives the full allocated limit.
