Upgrade or Downgrade User Accounts
Organization participants are initially registered either as Members. Collaborators or Guests.
Collaborators and Guests (external users) have access restrictions that cannot be lifted — the External User role cannot be modified, and these users can't be assigned additional roles.
If you want to provide less restricted organization-wide access to a pearson initially registered as an External User, you can convert their account to Member. Conversion works both ways — you can downgrade Members to Collaborators or Guests, upgrade Guests to Collaborators or Members and vice versa.
To convert a user account:
Open the person's profile (press Control+K to find it).
On the profile sidebar, choose Profile Settings.
Scroll down the page.
Choose the account type you want to convert the user to and press Convert:
Confirm you choice and click Save.
The account will be converted and associated permissions adjusted accordingly.
