Add topics
In Writerside, you can create a new topic from scratch or use a built-in template to help you get started.
Create an empty topic
To add a topic, right-click an existing topic and select New Topic to add a sibling or New Nested Topic to add a child topic.
Alternatively, click
on the toolbar or press Alt+Insert to place the new topic under the selected one.
Select Empty MD Topic or Empty XML Topic (see Topic formats for details on different topic formats and how to select one).
In the New Topic dialog, specify the topic title and the filename (you can change the title later if needed, see Change topic title).
Writerside uses the filename to automatically generate topic ID, so it must be unique within your project and meaningful so that you can easily reference it from other topics.
The newly created topic will appear in the TOC view and will open in the editor.

For instructions on how to move a topic around the TOC, see Table of contents.
Create a topic from template
To add a topic, right-click an existing topic and select New Topic to add a sibling or New Nested Topic to add a child topic.
Alternatively, click
on the toolbar or press Alt+Insert to place the new topic under the selected one.
Click Topic from Template and select from built-in templates for different types of topics: How-to, Overview, Reference, and Tutorial, or Section starting page.
Start editing the template and building content — the original template will not be affected.
