Automatic subscription to updates
YouTrack can automatically subscribe you to updates on any issues and Knowledge Base articles that you’ve reacted to, commented on, or voted on, or where your username is mentioned. You can also manually subscribe to issues and articles by simply pressing the “star” button.
To receive notifications for a whole project or general area of interest, you can subscribe to updates on any tasks matching a saved search or specified tag.
Add watchers
You can manually add other users to an issue’s “Watchers” list to subscribe them to updates. This way, you can help other team members find and keep track of tasks that may interest them.
Notifications without distraction
The YouTrack notification center is displayed in the page header on every screen, so you can review updates on content you’re following without navigating away from your current context. You can add emoji responses to acknowledge comments directly from the notification feed without leaving the page you’re on.
You’ve got mail
Configurable notification settings allow you to decide what types of updates are delivered to your email inbox. You can even turn them off completely, because YouTrack has plenty of other ways to keep you updated!
Push notifications
With the YouTrack Mobile app installed on your iOS or Android device, you can receive instant push notifications whenever someone assigns a task to you, or updates or comments on issues or articles that you’re following. The mobile app is a great way to stay in the loop while you’re on the go.
Sharing and permissions
YouTrack allows you to fine-tune access to issues, boards, tags, saved searches, and other entities. Restrict access to confidential information by sharing it with individual users or user groups.
Tags
Tags are so ubiquitous nowadays that many of us probably don’t realize how useful they are for sharing information and collaborating. With tags in YouTrack you can arbitrarily categorize tasks and make them easy for other users to find and follow.
Tags have their own visibility settings, so you can use them to flag tasks privately for the attention of a restricted group of team members without creating extra notifications for other users.
Votes
Gauge interest in new features, assess the impact of defects, and increase engagement with your user community.
Voting on issues is an easy way to prioritize your backlog and involve your team and customers in shaping the future of your products and services.
Customers who report bugs or create feature requests will receive notifications when someone votes on their issues, so they’ll know their voice is being heard.
Slack integration
YouTrack’s Slack integration lets you receive task update notifications in Slack via direct messages or in specified channels, and it enables Slack to unfurl YouTrack links in messages and display previews with task descriptions.
Integrating with Slack allows you to extend collaboration outside YouTrack and involve a wider audience in the exchange of information and ideas.
Telegram
You can work with your tasks and articles in Telegram. Install a YouTrack bot to get notified of the tasks and articles you are subscribed to. You can also create or update issues and articles with commands, add comments to issues and articles, and pin issues as discussions in your Telegram chat.
