Use your agents.
Keep your IDE.

Bring Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other AI coding agents straight into your JetBrains IDE. Review their changes, run your tests, and keep building in the tools you already use.

No JetBrains AI subscription required. Bring your own provider subscription.

I don’t have to leave
my IDE anymore.

You’re still
the architect.

Agents can write the code, but you still need to understand it and decide what stays.

Already paying for an agent?
Use it in Air.

Use your existing provider subscriptions directly inside Air. For Claude Code, simply sign in via the terminal surface or the full-screen editor tab – no JetBrains AI plan required for local sessions.

Each provider maintains its own pricing, usage limits, and sign-in requirements.

Switch agents.
Keep your workflow.

Add new agents from the ACP registry or connect compatible tools already installed on your machine. Start your next task with a different agent without ever moving your project.

ACP is the open protocol that connects AI agents to modern development tools.

Give your agents
real context.

Supported agents can use native JetBrains IDE capabilities – including debugging, profiling, database management, and semantic code search. You retain access to the exact same tools to inspect and verify their work.

Tool availability depends on the selected agent, IDE, and configuration.

Track changes.
Stay in control.

Monitor sessions across all your projects. Open a diff, leave a line comment, or run tests. Need parallel workflows? Use separate Git worktrees to keep working copies isolated.

Git worktrees provide separated working directories; they do not serve as isolated security sandboxes.

Start locally.
Finish in the cloud.

Run agents locally and then hand longer tasks to cloud-based agents that keep working when you close your laptop. Follow along from the web or your mobile device with Air Teams.

JetBrains Al subscription required. Air Teams on mobile is coming on November 15.

Add a dark mode toggle to the site header

On it — I’ll add a dark-mode toggle to the site header and persist the choice so it survives reloads. Scanning the project: the header lives in components/Header.tsx and there’s no theme provider yet, so I’ll add a small useTheme hook alongside it.

TScomponents/Header.tsx+26−2

Done. The toggle is wired to a small useTheme hook backed by React context, and the choice persists to localStorage so the site reopens in the last-used mode. The button swaps a sun/moon icon, exposes aria-pressed, and is reachable by keyboard. I also moved the header’s hard-coded colors to CSS variables.

Default to the system color scheme on first visit

Good call — I’ll read the system preference on first load and only override it once the user picks a theme, so returning visitors keep their choice.

TSlib/theme.tsx+9−1

Done. First-time visitors now inherit their OS light/dark setting, and the toggle still wins and persists after that. I also added a listener so the site follows OS changes until a manual choice is made.

A few practical questions

You can use your JetBrains AI subscription, but it’s not mandatory. Connect a supported provider account you already have for local sessions. Provider charges and limits still apply, and balances are not pooled between subscriptions. A JetBrains AI subscription is currently required for cloud runs, and a JetBrains account is required to access Junie Lite.
Yes. Run Claude Code in Air’s terminal or full-screen IDE tab and sign in there. The graphical Claude Agent integration has separate authentication options.
Air 开箱即支持 Codex、Gemini、GitHub Copilot、Claude Agent 和 Junie,还可以通过 ACP 连接很多其他智能体。在大多数情况下,您可以使用自己的第三方订阅,也可以使用 JetBrains AI。
No. Authentication, IDE tools, model choices and terminal or graphical support depend on the agent. Choose an agent in Air and check the options available for it.
Air is available as a plugin and in 2026.3 EAP builds of JetBrains IDEs. Check the Marketplace listing for your IDE and build. This page is about Air in IDEs, not the separate Air desktop app.
为了让您有机会试用 Air、亲身体验它的价值,我们限时免费提供采用 Lite 配置的 Junie(条款与条件适用)。
AI Assistant will remain available and supported as a separate plugin, but we believe Air is the future of agentic development in JetBrains IDEs. Installing Air through its AI Assistant notification disables AI Assistant; you can re-enable it in Settings | Plugins.
