Inspectopedia 2026.2 Help

Counted loop can be replaced with range over integer

Reports three-clause for loops of the form for i := 0; i < n; i++ that can be replaced with for i := range n (Go 1.22 or later).

Using range over an integer keeps the intent clear and removes boilerplate loop control code.

Example:

func Sum(n int) int { total := 0 for i := 0; i < n; i++ { total += i } return total }

To fix the code, use the Replace for loop with range n quick-fix.

After the quick-fix is applied:

func Sum(n int) int { total := 0 for i := range n { total += i } return total }
