AI providers
The AI providers page lets you configure connections to external AI providers using the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) approach and define which models are available for use across your organization. By default, only JetBrains AI is available.
You can add the following BYOK providers to your organization:
To provide users and service accounts with access to the configured provider's models, you need to specify it in an AI policy.
Add a provider
The general flow for adding a provider is the same across providers. For prerequisites and configuration instructions, refer to the corresponding topic.
In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Providers.
If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are inactive, your role doesn't have the necessary permissions.
Click Add provider and select the required provider.
In the provider card, specify the connection details.
Click Connect.
Once the connection is established, the available models appear in the provider card.
Model availability may depend on factors such as your subscription or tier with the external provider, the models available in your account with the external provider, regional restrictions imposed by the provider, or other factors. You can add or remove models from the list to control access to them. For details, refer to Managing models.
Test connection to a provider
You can test the connection to verify that the provider configuration is valid. The test runs automatically when you add a new provider or change the existing configuration.
If the configured BYOK provider stops responding, you can run the test manually, as the issue may be related to authentication. For example, it can be an expired API key or configuration changes made on the provider's side.
In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Providers.
If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are inactive, your role doesn't have the necessary permissions.
In the upper right corner of the provider card, click Test connection.
If the test fails, the Error status appears next to the provider's name.
If the test passes, you see a success message in the lower-right corner, and the Error status from the previous connection tests, if any, disappears.
Delete a provider
In the sidebar, under AI governance, select Providers.
If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are inactive, your role doesn't have the necessary permissions.
In the provider card, in the upper-right corner, click
and select Delete provider.
In the dialog, click Delete to confirm the action.
A success message appears in the lower right corner. The provider card is removed from the page.
