Sharing options for notebooks and workspaces

Workspaces

  • You can share: your own workspaces and workspaces you have edit access to

  • You cannot share your Private workspace, but you can share individual notebooks from it.

Notebooks

  • Notebooks are shared automatically when you share a workspace.

  • You can share a specific notebook from your Private workspace.

  • You cannot share a notebook in a shared workspace with a user who has no access to that workspace. As a workaround, you can clone such a notebook to your Private workspace and share that clone with any user.

Sharing a workspace: access types

There are three access types you can choose when sharing a workspace from the user's Home page. Find the procedure in this topic.

  • View: most restricted access

  • Edit: access allowing to edit the workspace

  • Manage: full access that allows you to edit the workspace and manage access to it for other users

Sharing a notebook: access types

You can share a notebook from your Private workspace by generating a link for viewing or editing it. Also, you can invite users by sending an invitation email. Both procedures are described in this topic.

You can choose from three access types:

  • View: most restricted access

  • Edit: access allowing to edit the workspace

  • Manage: full access that allows you to edit the workspace and manage access to it for other users, available when inviting by email
