'strings.Split' or 'strings.Fields' loop can use a 'Seq' variant

Reports loops that range over strings.Split or strings.Fields.

These functions allocate a slice of substrings that is used only for iteration. In Go 1.24 and later, strings.SplitSeq and strings.FieldsSeq return iterators that yield each piece without allocating an intermediate slice.

Example:

func CountCSV(s string) int {
	n := 0
	for p := range strings.SplitSeq(s, ",") {
		if p != "" {
			n++
		}
	}
	return n
}

To fix the code, use the Replace Split with SplitSeq quick-fix.

After the quick-fix is applied:

func CountWords(s string) int {
	n := 0
	for _, w := range strings.Fields(s) {
		_ = w
		n++
	}
	return n
}

Example:

func CountWords(s string) int {
	n := 0
	for w := range strings.FieldsSeq(s) {
		_ = w
		n++
	}
	return n
}

To fix the code, use the Replace Fields with FieldsSeq quick-fix.

After the quick-fix is applied:

n := 0
for w := range strings.FieldsSeq(s) {
    _ = w
    n++
}
