We succeeded in organizing JetBrains internships in some of our locations. Here is a list of the types of internships that we offered in 2021:
Developers, JetBrains Research, QA, Support, Design, Marketing, Market Research, Product Management, and HR.

internships

The ability for interns to choose tasks that they are genuinely interested in is an important aspect of JetBrains internships. This is why we first collect project ideas from JetBrainers who are interested in mentoring, then post them on our website and receive applications from students. Competitive admissions consist of two stages: solving test problems and an interview with the mentor.

First of all I would highly recommend applying for the internship. This is a very cool experience! Don’t be afraid of the internship: it can be tricky at the beginning, but then you are drawn into it and you’ll get a charge from it.

Continued Support for Open Source

Launch of The PHP Foundation

We're happy and proud to announce the creation of The PHP Foundation. JetBrains, together with Automattic (WordPress), Acquia (Drupal), Zend, Laravel, Symfony, Private Packagist, Tideways, PrestaShop, and Craft CMS, initiated the launch of a non-profit organization to support, promote, and advance the PHP language. JetBrains will contribute $100K annually to the PHP Foundation.

Support for the Python Software Foundation and the Django Software Foundation

In 2021, we helped the Django Software Foundation and the Python Software Foundation with their fundraising. We managed to contribute $70K in support of the Django and Python communities and the continued development of the framework and language.

Support for Open Web Docs

JetBrains joined Open Web Docs as a member of its Steering Committee and donated $20K to the project. We're committed to helping Open Web Docs fulfill its mission of supporting high-quality web platform documentation that is open and inclusive for all.

Launch of the OSS Power-Ups initiative

In this initiative, we put a spotlight on selected open-source .NET projects and gave them a major boost through sponsorship and raising awareness about ways of contributing to the .NET OSS ecosystem.

JetBrains Mono Added to Google Documents

In December 2020, JetBrains Mono, a free and open source typeface for developers, was released on Google Fonts and has now been officially added to GSuite.

You can use it to write code snippets in your Google Docs, make a beautiful, branded presentation in Google Slides, or set the font size really small and make all your content fit nicely in Google Sheets. You don't need to think twice about using small font sizes with Mono – it is designed specially to support them – but consider switching to Medium weight for more pronounced letter forms.

I use Kotlin for everything I teach. I think it makes app development much faster and much easier, given that it's 100% interoperable with Java and all the Java libraries that have been developed. I'm onboard 100%, my students really enjoy it, and I think Kotlin is a really great tool for education.
